LG has announced that it is finally starting to sell the Optimus F5 LTE smartphone and it will go on sale in France tomorrow, followed by other European countries. The phone will also be released in South and Central America, Asia and the Commonwealth of Independent States over the next few weeks.
Originally showcased at Mobile World Congress, LG F-series of devices come with 4G LTE connectivity coupled with decent specifications. They are in no way competitors to the high-end phones and aim to bring LTE devices to the mass market.
LG Optimus F5 features a 4.3-inch IPS display and is powered by 1.2GHz Qualcomm dual-core processor. The phone also comes with 2,150 mAh battery, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of internal storage.
Optimus F5 runs on Android 4.1.2. You can check out the key specifications of the phone later in the post.
“LG has consistently set the standard in the mobile industry with technology that com-plements, not complicates, users’ lives. The Optimus F5 is a natural extension of LG’s lineup of strong LTE devices, offering the lightning-speed of 4G LTE and UX features of a premium phone,” said Jong-seok Park, CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.
Along with some nice hardware inside, LG has also included various software customisations on the phone including QSlide, Live Zooming, Video Wiz, and Q Translator.
“The upgraded QSlide allows users to open two apps at the same time, both in full screen mode. Users can change the size, position and transparency of QSlide apps according to their preferences,” LG noted in press release. On the other hand, Live Zooming allows the user to zoom into a specific area while watching a video.
