UMI S1 Quad Core is an HTC Butterfly knock-off launched in India for INR 12,000

If you would have noticed, several new Chinese players have started popping up in the Indian smartphone market and UMI Mobiles is one of them. Now, the company has launched a new smartphone called – UMI S1 Quad Core in the country.UMI S1 Quad Core

As soon as you look at the phone, you know that there is hardly anything original about it – the phone is an outright knock-off of HTC Butterfly and that is not all. If you look at the S1 logo in the product shot, the ‘S’ design is also stolen from Samsung’s Galaxy S series.

I don’t why but even though the phone will be running on stock Android, they have used HTC Sense screenshot in their product image.

Well, if you still want to consider the phone, here is some information about it. It has been priced at INR 12,000 and runs on Android 4.2. It probably will be competing with Zen Mobile’s Ultrafone 701 HD.

S1 Quad Core features 5-inch 720p display. It is powered by MTK6589 Quad Core processor. Other features of the phone include 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage and microSD card slot.

There is an 8MP rear camera along with 2MP front camera. In addition, you will get 2020 mAh battery (wow they have even copied the battery capacity from Butterfly), and dual-SIM support.
