lg-nexus-4-finalUpdate (May 21, 2013): Flipkart has now started shipping Nexus 4. So, if you want to buy Nexus 4, this is your chance.

Earlier (May 16, 2013): After the reports of Nexus 4 pre-orders on Flipkart, LG India has now officially announced the launch of Nexus 4 smartphone in the country today. Priced almost same as the pre-order listing, the phone will be available at INR 25,999 (16GB version) in the country.

It might not be at par with the Google Play pricing, but it is still a very decent price compared to similar featured smartphones from other companies.

To remind you, Nexus devices like Nexus 4 are the first ones for receive new Android updates as soon as they are announced by Google, sometimes within days of the official unveiling.

It is important to note here that Nexus 4 took a surprisingly long time (although not as much as Nexus 7) to reach the Indian market. The phone was originally announced back in October by Google and it went on sale in November in select countries. The initial reports had pegged India release around November-end, but they turned out to be false.

To remind you, Nexus 4  features 4.7-inch True HD IPS display and is powered by 1.5GHz quad-core processor (Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro, the same SoC, which is present in Xperia Z and ZL). The phone also packs 2GB of RAM, Android 4.2.2 and 16GB of internal storage. There is no microSD card slot to increase the storage, so you will have to rely on Google Drive or other cloud storage solutions.

“LG Electronics is pleased to partner Google on the release of the Nexus 4 in India. We added the best of our talent to our strength, and the result is a feature- packed smartphone that packs superb hardware under a slim hood. With LG Nexus 4, consumers would be delighted by the perfectly balanced combination of style, function and power, said Soon Kwon, Managing Director, LG Electronics India.

The smartphone will be sold online as well as via select LG exclusive brand shops, Multi brand outlets and major retail stores across India.

    1. costly when compared to US price. But even if google itself is going to sell it through play store in India it will be around the same price. And u wont be getting this hardware at this price in any of the phones in this range. xperia Z/ZL which are having S4 PRO QUAD and 2GB RAM are selling for around 35k.Then I think it is cheap.

      1. yeah mate its true but 26 k for me is out of the league.
        i myself am using a nexus 4 .. i def wont pay 26 k yaar ..!
agreed that when compared to the features 26 k is worth.
but when i see reports of it avail in Pakistan for 23.6 k, its a really sad day for Indian android community.

  1. LG has launched it at a competitive price but still it has a big battery problem.
But again with battery apps it is handled.

Still , the phone packs a punch.. 🙂

  2. Confused between Xperis SP and Nexus 4…

Please suggest which mobile should I buy ????

    1. no doubt nexus 4..

feature : stock android , 360 degrees photography and many more …
      i m enjoyin mine 🙂

      1. Hey Dipti,

You look Happy with Your Nexus…Thats good…

But as I told to Akhil, I am slightly get attracted towards SP coz of Looks…

Nexus is not upto mark lookwise and even don’t have expanable memory.

My heart Says Xperia SP but Brain says Nexus…..

        what do you say ????

      2. sorry mate ,

regarding styling : nexus 4 is not bad at all , in fact i feel it looks are good
regarding battery : with n number of apps , u can easily increase its battery life (Juice defender in my case)

But expandable is a serious issue….

    2. Nexus 4, as it runs on a quad core S4, 2GB RAM, good IPS display(wide viewing angles) and of-course vanilla android. But if u r craving for a little more battery juice which SP provides and slightly better styling then SP might be ur choice.

      All the best

      1. Yes, I am slightly get attracted towards SP coz of Looks…

      2. Hey buddy, no doubt xperia will give you better looks or battery, but keep in mind that nexus devices are not for looks or some colourful light gimmicks. It will take ages for your xperia to get updated to jelly bean version 2, where nexus will be soon on key lime pie. That’s what makes it distinct and unique as compared to other phones.

  3. I am currently using Nexus 4 and really satisfied with it’s performance.
i think 16 GB (12.92 GB for User) is enough and it is really sexy piece when it comes to hand.
Super slick and light weight and as per the battery wise i think its good ( not the best) but my usage is average.
GTalk, FB, FB Messanger, WhatsAPP are always on, play game for nearly 1-2 hours and 1-2 hours of call. and still it stands with 20-30% at the end of the day. and Stock android is flawless with neat EYE. i think i would love to buy it again

  4. Cracked my N4 back glass without dropping it! If you are thinking of purchasing N4 do get a case.
