After defending the lack of usable internal storage on 16GB version of Galaxy S4, Samsung did a U-turn today and told
Samsung did not promise anything or revealed how it was planning to free more storage space in its flagship smartphone.
Here is the complete Samsung statement (via CNET):
We appreciate this issue being raised and we will improve our communications. Also, we are reviewing the possibility to secure more memory space through further software optimisation.
Samsung is committed to listening to our customers and responding to their needs as part of our innovation process.
Samsung’s Galaxy S4 smartphone comes with around 8GB of free internal storage in the 16GB model, which is almost half of what the company is promising to the consumers.
The phone does pack a microSD card slot, but as users cannot install apps on SD card on Galaxy S4, it is really of no use to gamers or heavy app users. Such users need space in their internal memory to install graphic intensive games that can go up to 1GB or apps that take a lot of space.
