Lava launches iris 504Q Android phone with gesture support

Lava has announced the launch of a new smartphone in the Indian market yesterday. Dubbed as iris 504Q, the smartphone comes with motion gesture support. It has been priced at INR 13,499 and will be available beginning fourth week of June.Lava iris 504Q

While, this is not uncommon for Android smartphone to pack gesture support, we haven’t seen many devices packing the feature from home-grown manufacturers. Lava’s iris 504q allows users to click images, navigate pictures/ songs/ videos, or even stations in FM radio. There are specific gestures for every action, but the question arises whether users will be using these gestures commonly or this is just a marketing gimmick. There might be some use-cases but we doubt any broader usability.

Coming to the phone specifications, iris 504Q comes with a 5-inch 720p display with OGS, 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, and 4GB of internal storage. The phone also packs microSD card slot, Android 4.2, 8MP rear camera, 2MP front camera and 2,000 mAh battery.

The company has also bundled a few applications like Hungama Music, Opera web browser, and Modern Combat game on the smartphone.

    Hi,

I was thinking to buy this phone and have a question. Is the camera pics taken by this device good? Is it possible to install apps on external SD card? Is it MT6589 M or Normal MT 6589?
