Samsung’s entry-level Android smartphone Galaxy Pocket Neo is now available in the Indian market. The phone is currently selling at online retailer Infibeam for INR 7,130 (MRP: INR 7340).
Originally showcased along with Galaxy Star at Samsung Africa Forum in March this year, the phones was announced for global markets in April. It features dual-SIM support, 3-inch QVGA display and Android 4.1. Samsung Galaxy Pocket Neo also comes with 2MP rear camera, 512MB RAM, 4GB of internal storage and 1200 mAh battery.
In addition, the phone packs 3G support and an 850 MHz processor. Considering these not-so-great specifications, we think the phone has been over-priced and a better pricing would have been around INR 5,500-INR 6,000.
The company’s other smartphone with similar features (apart from the missing 3G support) Galaxy Star retails at INR 5,000 only.
In terms of the software customisations, the phone runs on the company’s Touchwiz UI and comes with features like Shake to update, Flip to mute, and Quick Memo.
