HTC One mini official, goes on sale next month

As promised, HTC has officially announced its One mini smartphone today. A smaller version of the company’s flagship HTC One, One mini comes with mid-range specifications in a unibody design.HTC One mini

According to HTC, One mini will be available beginning August worldwide and the first countries to see the launch will be Germany and UK. HTC has not shared any pricing details at this moment.

As rumoured earlier, HTC One packs a 4.3-inch 720p S-LCD 3 display, 1.4GHz dual-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM, 4MP Ultrapixel camera and 1800 mAh battery. The phone runs on Android 4.2.2 and features 1.6MP front camera, 16GB of internal storage and LTE support.

“We are proud to be behind the market’s leading smartphone and now, with the addition of the HTC One mini, the best smartphone family in the world.” said Peter Chou, CEO of HTC Corporation. “The HTC One mini embodies everything that makes the HTC One a success on a smaller but equally eye-catching scale.”

“The HTC One mini brings everything consumers love about the HTC One, including the HTC UltraPixel Camera with HTC Zoe, HTC BoomSound  and HTC BlinkFeed, into a smaller package,” the company noted in a press note.

Unlike HTC One, there is no NFC or Infrared hardware present in One mini.

While HTC One mini looks decent, a lot will depend on how HTC prices it in the market. If the company goes aggressive, it might be able to capture the very important mid-range segment but then phones like Moto X are already on their way to compete in the same arena.
