LG has started rolling out Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for the Optimus L5 smartphone in India. The update is now available via LG Mobile Support tool. You can download the mobile support tool by visiting this LG Optimus L5 Update

The company has not released an official change-log but you can expect to see Google Now support, Project Butter improvement, better widgets support, UI changes and performance enhancements on your Optimus L5 smartphone.

The update is currently live only for single SIM version E612, there is no word on the dual-SIM version E615, which should also be getting the update in the coming days.

As all updates are released in batches, you might not get the update right-away but it will reach your device in the next few days.

There is also no word on the OTA roll-out but you can check by going to Settings > About phone > Software update > Update.

Originally launched in the country last year, the phone has already been succeed by LG Optimus L5 II, which comes pre-loaded with Android 4.1.2.
