According to a press release issued by the company, Asus Transformer Pad TF701T runs on Android 4.2 and features 5MP rear camera, 1.2MP front camera, 2GB of RAM, 32/ 64GB of storage and microSD card slot.
The company has also introduced a keyboard dock along with the tablet, which comes with USB 3.0, SD card slot and battery. Asus has not revealed anything on the pricing front but considering the specs, it isn’t going to be cheap. The company will most probably only introduce the Wi-Fi version of the tablet.
In related news, along with new Transformer Pad, Asus has released an upgraded version of its Transformer Book Trio. This 11.6-inch tablet with a keyboard dock runs on both Android and Windows 8.
“With the ability to switch between Windows 8 and Android at the press of a button, Transformer Book Trio offers unmatched three-in-one flexibility for users who want the best of all mobile worlds,” Asus wrote in a press release.
Basically, there are three devices packed in Transformer Book Trio, it can be used as an Android tablet, Windows or Android laptop with keyboard dock and Windows Desktop PC with an external display + keyboard dock.
On the specs front, the keyboard dock features Intel Haswell processor with support up to Core i7, 4GB of RAM, 1TB storage, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0. It also comes with 2 USB 3.0 ports, a mini DisplayPort, micro HDMI port, and audio jack.
On the other hand, the tablet part packs 11.6-inch full HD IPS display, Intel Atom Z7260 Clover Trail+ processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB/ 32GB/ 64GB of storage, 4MP rear camera, and a front camera. In addition, it also includes Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, microUSB port, audio jack, and microSD card slot.
There is no word on pricing but it should be available before the end of 2013 along with other Asus’ newly announced products.
