To come with Snapdragon 800 CPU, 5-inch display and LTE
Just days after Google inadvertently gave us a peek at the next Nexus smartphone (Nexus 5) in the Android KitKat statue unveiling video, the smartphone seems to have appeared in a FCC approval listing.
As we had just caught a glimpse of next Nexus smartphone in the video, there is not much information to make a clear assumption that LG D820, which has been spotted in FCC docs, is indeed the Nexus 5. However, given the similarities in design of the back panel that we saw in the video and the one from D820 present in the FCC docs along with the presence of KeyLimePie (now KitKat) as OS version on D820, it is plausible that LG D820 turns out be the next Nexus smartphone.
Coming to the specifications that have been revealed from the FCC documentation, LG D820 aka Nexus 5 seems to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800 processor (MSM8974) and features a 5-inch (4.96-inch to be exact) display.
The smartphone also packs NFC, GSM / EDGE, Bluetooth 4.0, dual-band 802.11 b/g/n/ac and 7-band LTE connectivity options. In addition, LG 820 will come with wireless charging support and Android 4.4 (as we noted earlier).
These are some decent specifications and if this phone is indeed the Nexus 5 and Google prices it like Nexus 4, it surely will find a lot of takers.
