Reports are coming in from Korea that Samsung is prepping a cheaper Galaxy Note 3 variant to be released in some markets. This new variant of Galaxy Note 3 will come with an LCD instead of Super AMOLED display present in existing Note 3 smartphone, report
Among other details, the cheaper variant of the phone is said to be sporting an 8MP rear camera in place of 13MP in the existing model and a slightly tweaked body.
ET News notes that Samsung planned to introduce this budget variant along with the flagship Galaxy Note 3 but then decided against it in fear of diluting the premier image of Note-series. It is now said to be coming in November, which will give the company ample time to sell the existing premium Note 3 model.
To remind you, Samsung Galaxy Note 3 goes on sale worldwide on September 25 i.e. day after tomorrow and the company is hoping to sell 10 million units of the phone. On the other hand, Samsung is keeping a shipment target of 3 million for the cheaper variant.
In a report SamMobile speculates that the display size of this cheaper Note 3 might also be reduced to 5.5-inches as the company seems to be testing a variant of Note 3 with 5.5-inch display and has imported over 100 units of this 5.5-inch version in India over the last few days.
