HTC India has stated that it wants to expand its retail presence from 4,000 stores to 7,000 stores in the next six months. The company also plans to add more service points to strengthen its service center network. HTC currently has 250 service centres in the country.
“We are planning to increase our retail outlets to 7,000 in next six months and 100 additional service points will be put up in the next three quarters,” HTC country head Faisal Siddiqui said recently.
Siddiqui also revealed that HTC is in midst of revamping its distribution model and is now adding more distribution partners. He noted that HTC India now has four national distributors instead of just one, which it used to have earlier.
The company, which currently has around just three-six per cent market share in India as per various industry estimates, has recently launched two new smartphones in the country – Desire 500 and One mini and plans to release three more before the end of the year. It has also indicated that it wants to bring at least one sub-INR 10,000 smartphone as well.
