Polaroid’s Android camera iM1836 finally goes on sale for $299

Polaroid has finally released its Android-powered smart camera iM1836 in the United States. Originally showcased at CES 2013 this year, this interchangeable lens smart camera can now be grabbed from select Walmart stores and Amazon.com for $299.Polaroid iM1836

“This camera has generated tremendous buzz since it first debuted at CES this year,” said Sakar President Jeff Saka. “Now, we’re thrilled to see it hit store shelves, just in time for the holiday season, making it perfect for capturing precious family memories and for gift-giving.”

To remind you, Polaroid iM1836 comes with 10-30mm optical zoom kit lens, 18.1MP sensor, 3.5-inch touchscreen LCD, Android 4.1, Wi-Fi and support for Google Play. The company will also releasing a 500mm telephoto lens for the camera in November, followed by a 50mm lens, which will be available in early 2014. The pricing of these lenses is not known at this point.

The smart camera will be competing with the likes of Samsung Galaxy Camera and Nikon Coolpix S800c, both of which also come with Android on-board.Polaroid iM1836 features
