Twitter has finally unveiled the tablet optimised version of its official Android app today. The app will be available pre-loaded on Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1-2014 Edition (the tablet is going on sale today itself) and will be coming to more tablets by the end of 2013. The company has not revealed any plans for the Google Play release right now.
According to the company, the app’s landscape view on tablets fills your screen with tweets, conversations, trends, accounts to follow and more. With a single tap, tweets expand on the right side to show photos, videos and article previews.
The company has also worked with Samsung to optimise the app to work with multi-window feature of Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (and other Samsung devices) and S-Pen functionality.
“You can now use Twitter as your canvas to create and tweet colorful illustrations, or you can also draw directly on photos from your photo gallery and share them. The ability to doodle also works with the S-Pen, which is available on the Galaxy Note 10.1-2014 Edition,” Twitter noted in a blog post.
Twitter is also introducing a widget for tablets, which not only shows tweets, photos, and videos but also delivers country specific breaking news, music, sports and photos.
