LG G3 to pack octa-core CPU, QHD display, 16MP camera: Report

Like Samsung, LG doesn’t want to be left behind in the specs-wars as it prepares its next-flagship smartphone. Expected to be dubbed as LG G3, the next flagship from this Korean manufacturer will come with a QHD display (2560x1440p), octa-core processor and 16MP rear camera, claims ZDNet Korea.LG Logo

The Korea publication cites industry sources for this information and notes that LG G3 will arrive sometime in the second half of the next year, which is expected considering LG G2 was also launched around the same time this year.

LG is reportedly working on an octa-core processor in-house, which will be used in G3, same as Samsung, which is also be using its own Exynos octa-core processor in next Galaxy S phone (Galaxy S5). Samsung is also rumoured to include QHD display and 16MP rear camera in GS5.

ZDNet adds that we might see a prototype unit running on LG-made octa-core processor at next year’s Mobile World Congress trade event.

No other details are available at this point but given the past record, we expect to see more rumours and leaks going forward.
