CyanogenMod unveils GalleryNext, an image gallery app for Android

CyanogenMod has announced the release of GalleryNext beta in Google Play earlier today. A replacement of the existing AOSP Gallery app in CyanogenMod, it will most likely be released as a part of CM 11.0 and the future versions.CM Gallerynext

Here is a look at the features of GalleryNext:

  • View all your pictures in one centralized location
  • Cloud services integration with Flickr, Picasa (G+), Facebook, and Dropbox
  • Moments support (automatic grouping and classification of media based on metadata)
  • Video playback support
  • Gif support
  • Deduplication in ‘All’ view

According to CyanogenMod team, it plans to add support for Android 4.4’s immersive mode UI, editor support and more in the future releases of GalleryNext.

To test the beta of GalleryNext, you will need to follow the instructions given in this post. It is same as signing up for Twitter or Facebook for Android beta versions.
