Nokia’s Android smartphone still in development: Reports

After a string of reports that suggested that Nokia might have dumped the Android smartphone project Normandy, evleaks and BGR India claim that the said project is still very much in development and we could see it become a reality soon.

evleaks noted on his Twitter account that the recent reports about Normandy project’s closure have been greatly exaggerated.

While not much can be seen in this image, the user-interface does seem to have been totally revamped to suit Nokia’s needs.  BGR India adds that despite running on the forked version of Android, Nokia’s Normandy will be able to run most of the existing Android applications with little to no tweaking, which is going to play a vital role in the success of this phone as developers would not want to recode their apps for a platform that could be dumped by the company anytime.
