If a statement from Russian blogger Eldar Murtazin is to be believed, Samsung is going to announce its Galaxy S5 Android smartphone on February 23 in Barcelona.

There is no official confirmation in this regard but Murtazin has been accurate with such details in the past. However, it is also important to note here that Murtazin himself was suggesting a March announcement about a fortnight ago. So, take this with a pinch of salt.
Galaxy S5 wont be on MWC2014 😉 May 1 start of sales like S4, so launch date around march like S4 (some european capitals into consideration

February 23 announcement means that Samsung is going back to its practice of announcing flagship devices at trade events. You can expect to see many other Android device announcements the same day as every company would like its products officially unveiled before the MWC begins, so that they can showcase it. To remind you, Mobile World Congress officially opens on February 24.
