Asus announces KitKat update plans for PadFone devices

The new PadFoneAsus has announced that it will be releasing Android 4.4 KitKat update for the select PadFone devices in the coming months. The company will also be bundling the new Zen UI as a part of the KitKat update.

The PadFone devices, which will be getting KitKat update include all ASUS PadFone 2, ASUS PadFone Infinity (Asia & Russia)/ ASUS PadFone A80 (Europe) and New PadFone Infinity.  While most of the updates will be released by the end of Q2, 2014, the new PadFone Infinity devices will be getting the update in Q3, 2014. The company has promised to provide more details about the schedule on a later date.

To remind you, Zen UI, which was announced alongside the company’s new ZenFone devices, includes ‘flat’ icons, vivid colour themes, animations, new ringtones and notification sounds, and a clean layout to clearly present information.

“ZenUI also includes two features — What’s Next and Do It Later — designed to free users from the actively having to manage the multitude of information they are confronted with daily and enable them to be more productive,” Asus noted in a recent press release.

The full change-log of the upcoming updates is not available at this point. Here is a look at the Zen UI for smartphones.
