Micromax Canvas Elanza goes on sale for INR 9,400, packs 5-inch qHD display

Micromax has silently added a new Android smartphone to its portfolio in the country. Dubbed as Micromax Canvas Elanza, the phone is now selling at online retailer Snapdeal.

Priced at INR 9,400, Micromax A93 Canvas Elanza features 5-inch qHD display, 1.3GHz dual-core processor and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. The phone also packs 5MP rear camera, VGA front camera and 1950 mAh battery. In addition, Micromax has included 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage and microSD card slot on the smartphone.

Just a new casing and Micromax Canvas Elanza is like most Android smartphones available from home-grown smartphone vendors in the country. I would suggest you go for Moto G, which although carries a higher price-tag but is a far better device.

Micromax Canvas Duet 2 EG-111 coming this week

In related news, Micromax will also release another Android phone called Canvas Duet 2 EG-111 this week, revealed retailer Mahesh Telecom.  The phone packs a 5.3-inch HD display, quad-core processor and Android 4.1.

It also comes with dual-SIM GSM+CDMA support, 8MP rear camera and 2MP front camera. In addition, the usual connectivity options, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage and microSD card slot are also present. The smartphone is expected to be priced at INR 15,790.

We are hoping to see an official announcement about both phones this week but we wouldn’t necessarily bet on seeing one. Micromax Canvas Duet 2 will probably be launched in partnership with a CDMA telecom operator, however an open-market version should also be available.
