Cheer up Moto G 16GB buyers, in case you are waiting for your Moto G unit, it should be heading out to your home soon.
We have just received word that a new lot of Moto G 16GB units is here and Flipkart will start shipping these very soon, most probably by tomorrow (if not is already shipping). If you are one of the consumers, who had booked the phone after the first and second batch, which have already been shipped, and have got the shipping email, let us know in comments.
To remind you, Moto G went on sale at Flipkart on February 6 and the initial 16GB stock was sold out within a matter of minutes. The company has since been taking reservations (sort of a paid pre-booking) for the phone and will start shipping these orders based on their order time from the latest stock.
As the latest stock includes just over 4,000 units of 16GB Moto G, we don’t see all 16GB buyers getting their shipments, some might have to wait a little longer (for the next stock – Check update below).
Moto G 8GB does not seem to be too much in demand and is still in stock on Flipkart and a new batch of over 5,000 units has also come in. So, 8GB is not going out of stock anytime soon.
Update (Feb 17): More stock for Moto G 16GB version is here. Flipkart has got 11,500 more units of the 16GB version.
Update (Feb 20): Flipkart has got 4,800 more units of the 16GB version.
Update (Feb 23): Cheers, Flipkart has imported 29,600 units of 16GB Moto G model and 18,100 units of 8GB model over the last couple of days. This should clear any pending back-log of the existing orders.
Update (Feb 26): 9,500 more units of 16GB version are here.

Single SIM versions would not be available in India officially. Device is not meant for this market.
What the hell is flipkart and motorola upto, when 16Gb is more in demand which should be considering the price, then why are they bringing a lot of 8gb and much less of 16gb.
This time I think motorola will reallocate the stock to other shopping websites also spec the 8Gb one.

Comon this is so irritating… A product launched somewhere in November in Brazil launches in India in February. There is one sole seller FK and they too cant deliver the item after 8 F’ing days… Didnt Motorola and FK anticipate that there will be huge demand for the 16Gig Version keeping the price difference low. There are many supporters on FK who got the device early on their hands, commenting on others not to blame FK. But after so many days i think FK has seriously played out this particular launch badly.
I think this is just a show … to increase the demand ..but if these people over do it , people are going to be drawn away n not going to buy it from flipkart …anyway in the last week of feb it is said to release on snapdeal ..so y not buy it from there instead of being a part of their stupid not need show n wait for so long!!

hi! shipment on the way! booked on 8feb at 12.40 am. had to take follow up two times in flipkart call centre. They don’t want to disclose the approximate date also.they said we cant give idea about shipment date. Motorola as now is not a part of Google instead lenovo has taken it now. so if people relying on Google Quality must think before buying, after receiving if the product has defect, for sure nobody is going to take your complaints.

Google does the OS not the hardware. The hype is due to the price for that hardware and the updates from google. And its fairly justified.

I Placed the order on 8th Feb. I got a message yesterday evening that it hs been shipped via Blue dart. But the blue dart website shows that the tracking number given is not available.Wrote to FK and they wrote back saying that the product is already shipped but the tracking site has a technical issue. Just had a discussion with Flipkart executive, said the delivery of order depends on stock available at the nearest dock viz. in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai & Kolkata dock which determines your delivery time rather on 1st come 1st serve basis!

There are few other factors also to be considered here (Like which part of India, availability of stocks at the hub where you falls, how many people are in queue at your city’s hub). These are few things i am speculating after going through many replies given by many posters here and in flipkart site. May be some other reasons will be there which we may not be aware. I know it is frustrating after reading someone got confirmed who has ordered after you but this is not in our control. You have waited for past 10 days and just wait for one more day. Order date: 12th Feb. CS@FK told me just now that one phone has been reserved for me at the Whitefield location on 19th. Explained to me that within 5-6 days it will be sent.
This call was to test my theory that they have a different story for each call. One major difference is that about 4 minutes of the 6 min call was taken by being on hold while the executive found talked to the concerned department. Earlier the replies were given on the fly.
I think they should have one consistent message on their website or send emails explaining the actions they are taking to fulfill the order. Else, their reputation will suffer.
Still sympathetic to these guys.
However, the impulse to cancel the order is still there. This may get enhanced as somebody I know is willing to sell one piece to me for 15000.
Willing to wait till 22nd as that is my the 10th day for this adventure and there may be a change as per one theory on this discussion.

moto g is an amazing phone in this price … Even better than Grand 2
as per flip kart there is no stock in hand, and it will dispatch after not less than 20 days, and also it is not sure for delivery period. because FK has Huge pending order, if you have patience then book other wise go another for XOLO Q1100 which best option at present.

There is first come first serve basis. Here is FK’s reply through mail “Kindly note that our sellers ship products from different locations across the country based on the stocks in the inventory. Hence, customers pertaining to its respective locations/warehouses receive the order at the earliest.”
CC is using standard email response templates.. all the imports are done at Banglore then how come they ships from different locations??? you try another mail to CC and i’m sure you will get a different reply!

It seems like you need to drop mails and calls constantly and it case you may also have to express your extreme frustration to CS guys to get ur prod shipped. After a very harsh call on saturday with FK CS my consignment started to process and now it turned to shipped with in a day. I didn’t knew this before, if i had i would have called them long back.

Spread the argument and heat/anger over multiple days, mails and calls. Do not bur yourself. That is the way to do it. I had about four calls and emails over two days and kept it polite (the anger just under the skin). It worked for me.

The phone’s notification LED — it doesn’t seem to work at all, and there’s no software switch for it anywhere in the Settings app. Emails, texts and missed calls all failed to trigger the flashing white LED, nor could we use third-party apps like LightFlow to activate it.(might be working for some mobiles) if not…
The glitch is a side effect of restoring from your Google account to the Moto G, which is part of the setup process for the phone. The feature downloads apps and settings from the cloud, which is usually a good thing. But in some instances it can tell the Moto G to restore the notification LED setting from another phone, leaving the light disabled with no way to re-enable it.
Fortunately there’s a simple fix for this issue, and it’s one that apparently applies to some other Motorola phones too …
Motorola has released a widget that lets you toggle the notification light on and off, so if you’re affected by this bug simply download it, place it on a home screen and toggle it on. After that you can remove the widget and your notification light will continue to work.

Problem: Poor audio quality
The Moto G offers good sound quality for the price, and you never expect much from the speakers, but some people have been disappointed with the quality of the audio when using headphones or earphones to listen to music.
Workaround:
Go to Settings > Sound > Audio Effects and you can tweak the equalizer settings for the Wired Stereo and Speaker separately. Try playing with the settings and change the profile to see if you can get a sound that’s more to your liking.
Glitch: Moto G reboots when charging, or won’t charge
To keep costs down, Motorola shipped the Moto G without a charger; you just get the standard USB cable. It will work with pretty much any standard charger you may have lying around, but some people have reported problems with the phone rebooting when they plug it in, or refusing to charge when the battery runs down. There have also been reports of the Moto G just turning itself off and not charging.
Potential solutions:
This is probably down to the specific charger that you’re using. Try another one and you likely won’t encounter this problem. Ideally, you want a charger rated between 500mA and 1.5A – the higher the rating, the faster it will charge (within these parameters, higher than 1.5A and the Moto G will restrict it anyway).
If you let your Moto G hit zero and it won’t come back to life, try letting it cool down for a while, then plug in a charger (ideally a different one) and leave it for 20 minutes or so before holding down the power key for 20 seconds.

I got my Moto G 16 GB yesterday and today I found when I launch the camera App in the dark room, there is white pixels(couple of them at same place). However, when i capture the picture, its not there. These pixels are in camera App only as I checked some complete black wallpaper,no sign of white pixels.
Guys, please check and reply to this post. Any suggestions and fixes appreciated.

Based on so many reviews of post upgrade Kitkat issues, I won’t mind in not upgrading to KitKat but will stick with JellyBean until google comes with a fix on next upgrade..

Today I finally got Moto G in my hand..no doubt it is the best among the beast 🙂
To my surprise I noticed couple of things what people reviewed earlier in flipkart site..
1. I got a box which was sealed pack, unlike the people who got earlier got the loose/opened box with no seal(you can check in youtube as well)
2. My phone was box shipped with Kitkat Upgrade..yes I checked the version and they shipped the phone with upgraded version 4.4.2. I didn’t have to upgrade 😀 m/
3.When I turned On the phone, the battery was charged to 50%, unlike many other people who complained of having shipped a phone with drained battery and it took several hrs for them to charge before actually using the phone. I plugged the charger and switched off the phone just to charge it to 100% and it is charging with no issues with a rate of 1% per 2-3 mins. that’s really cool 🙂
Now coming to the Kitkat version,which now my phone is already upgraded to, let me use it for couple of days and then will jot down the issues(if any)..I am just hoping for the best ..

As my phone was delivered (24th) in my absence, it was not connected for charging in the meantime. I connected to the mains immediately after I reached home and now after about 6 hours it is charged 25%.. One of post mentioned using a higher output charger. It does seriously require that. More later.
Did anybody had a situation with wifi connection? my phone refused to connect to wifi at home due to “poor connection” whereas my wife’s samsung has never complained.

In settings one has to make a choice for using poor connection.
WPS was the issue for connection not working. This seems like glorified reset button. So, it worked by resetting the wireless router (adding the moto g to the white list before hand)
Ordered on 15th Feb 12 Noon for delivery in Surat. No response till 24th. Called CC 3 times and mailed 2 times and gave them examples of delivery in neighboring cities who have ordered much later. Order confirmed on 25th and left their Bangalore warehouse. Reached Ahmadabad on 27th (No clues why they sent to Ahmadabad unless it is airfreight, which dont seem to be the case).. Still its yet to reach a Hub near me and ultimately to my Home..My hopes of getting it today are fainting..Pathetic service on prioritizing orders and logistics..If FK dont have any control on WS, why they chose to be the sole distributor in the first place???
I have also bad experiance in timely delivery, dispatched on 22 feb 2014 by fedex and still waiting for it…..

For those asking for reviews, here is a small one. Phone comes in a small box, sealed. Makes you realize you paid for a mid-ranger (Box is shit small). Real shit crap earphones (Those old Nokia types), they aren’t in ears. Threw them in the trash already (MW600’s all the way). Phone charger with attached cable. So no data cable provided for connecting to the PC. You need to buy one. Back rubberized cover with the Moto Logo depression feels great and provides an extra hold with the index finger. Phone starts up fairly quickly, and Motorola Migrate helps transferring Messages, Audios, Videos, Settings from your old phone to the new one over Wi-Fi. No option is selective transfer however. Hence i transferred my SD data to my PC and deleted from the phone before the transfer as i dont want to root the G yet (PS: Also voids warranty :'( ) There is no software bundle. Phone came with Kitkat (4.4.2) in the box. The Camera of the phone is trash. 5 Mp shooter with super grains. I owned an Xperia S before this (13Mp Cam) so i expected deterioration, but it doesnt even come close to the Iphone’s 5 Mp cam. Battery Non removable. Sim Card slot in the back cover. Check the manual how to open it. Lagged for an initial time after restoring my custom Keyboard (Swype). Seems fine now. Speaker is great.
facing wifi connectivity issues with moto g ..version 4.4.2..wifi connection is good near router or for line of sight but when i go to my room..the signal strength almost drops completely …though my previous htc android phone catches excellent wifi signal there..anybody facing similar issue and know the fix for it..?

if your wi-fi is working fine and your using 4.3 android version..don’t upgrade until 4.4.2 bugs are fixed

yes. I was surprised to see a notification when I was about 40m away (on ground floor. My house is on first floor) after I returned to my complex from a walk. I have a 7 years old Netgear DG834G wireless router.

it has corring gorilla glass 3 .. so u dont really need a scratchgard..

BATTERY ISSUE????
okay as I earlier said my moto G was shipped with Kitkat upgrade, I didn’t face any issues in connecting to wi-fi network as many people are claiming to have some. Also there is no lag in using any applications/games.
BUT one thing has drawn my attention, BATTERY DRAINAGE ..yes battery is draining very fast. I charged my cell to 100% at around 5 PM and it came down to 63% by 11 PM with normal usage(no 3G, no games, no videos, 20 mins call, very less browsing, Whatsapp activated though). I read lot many reviews/blogs about the battery issue in Moto G and techies have suggested to keep the mobile in charging for another 2-3 hrs even after reaching to 100% to calibrate the battery and some people have said it will be back to normal after 3-4 cycles of charge in a few days and the drainage is an not an uncommon issue.
I left my mobile in charging before sleeping and left it for 2+ hrs after it was charged fully. I observed little improvement in battery now. I plugged it out at 6:30 AM and checked the battery level at around 9:30 AM(~ 3 hrs), the battery was still at 100%(in standby- no usage) and after a fare usage till 12:30 PM(~6 hrs) it is now at 93%. I will check the exact duration before it drains out completely or to 10% and update on this very soon.

This is the second day and Battery is still draining as usual. Today I am going to discharge it fully and then will put it in charge, to check if the battery gets calibrated(if there’s any prob with it) …
As per official site and reviews in many blogs, this mobile is suppose to give a battery backup of 1 day + in fair usage..Anybody else is noticing the battery drainage? 🙁
Anybody sees dark wavy pattens at the top and bottom edges of the screen? May be by design as such pattern is not seen on the start-up/down screen when Motorola logo and animations is played. So, physical reason or damaged display is ruled out. Curious in any case.

hey , is anyone having trouble with mobile networks and issues with 3g connectivities ? 3g is generally shifted to edge ?? and both sim cards loose their networks at once sometimes ???

If you have activated 3g then yes the signal sometimes shifts between 2g and 3g (E and H) because of network coverage area and it is normal.
But if it is continuously on 2g (E) then you can manually change your APN settings.
I had to manually change settings to active 3g since my provider (vodafone) did not provide me with 3g settings.
Getting around 18 hours with approx 5 calls (30min),2 hrs of gaming (Real Boxing) , 2 hrs wifi and 3g is activated on one sim (started using on 27th)
I didn’t activate 3G and today after listening musics(on earphone), browsing net for 3-4 hrs on 2G network..the battery dropped to 75% from 100 in just 4 hrs..last night I even had stopped all the google apps to sync from internet..There is definitely some battery problem.. 🙁
I will check the usage for another 2 days and then will ask for replacement..
Dont rely on per percent drop in battery readings …….. just do a rough calculation of one complete charge cycle. (From 100% to 10%)

Disable location and bluetooth if you are not using them.
Location/Navigation and Bluetooth are already disabled and today my mobile didn’t even run more than 15 hrs when the battery drained out completely..to be precise it was only 11 hrs 25 mins

How did it brake coz glass is not that fragile unless it was mishandled very badly? If it was broken due to mishandling then probably the return policy won’t be applicable, if not, you can check with Flipkart customer care.
To return, simply login into your flipkart account and goto the order history and you will see a link ‘Return’ against the Moto G(which you recently have ordered ). Click on it and fill the questionnaire. All the best !!

I got my moto g 16gb 3 days back, i noticed that the battery is charging very slowly . I did an 8 hours charging first and while usage the battery was doping fast, I thought its bcoz new battery and should be calibrated.Second charging took almost 3 and half hours to fully charge.
So i saw the specification on the charger and i understood its 550mA which is very slow to power up a 2070 mah battery. Now the third time i used my friend’s LG 1.2 A charger, after seeing the motrola’s official site where its written that the moto g can take an 1.5A power. But the result is worst it took 4 hours 10 min to reach 100%.
I recently joined a company and i have to visit clients very often which force me to travel a lot, and i cant wait for 3 hours for my mobile to charge. So PLEASE HELP ME WITH YOUR SUGGESTIONS AND EXPERIENCES.
I saw a sony wall charger in flipkart which gives 2.1 A power and in the comments one user has claimed that he can charge his moto g within 2hours.
As per Motorola site:
“Any Motorola charger with the correct micro-USB tip will charge your Moto G. You will see the best results when the output of the charger is between 500 mA and 1.5 A. The higher the output, the faster your Moto G will charge.
If your charger output is higher, the MOTO G will automatically restrict the charging rate. If your charger is lower, it will simply take longer to reach a full charge.”
So can anyone tell me whether its safe to use a higher Amp charger? Do anyone here using a 2.1 AMP charger for moto g? If yes is the mobile heating up or having any problem with the touch during charging?
