Nokia X to be priced lower than INR 7,000: Retailer

With Nokia’s Mobile World Congress press event less than ten days away, a new leak coming from Vietnam suggests that Nokia X Android phone would be priced between 2 and 2.5 million Dong (INR 5916-INR 7382 | USD 94-118).

Vietnamese retailer MaiNguyen.vn prematurely listed the phone two days ago on its website and revealed on Facebook that according to the information it had received that phone will most likely be priced between 2 and 2.5 million Dong. The website listing has since been removed but the Facebook Nokia X listing

There is no way to confirm whether it is the official estimate of the price, however given the specifications, it seems plausible.  As per the retailer listing, which matches with past leaks, Nokia X will come with a forked version of KitKat, dual-core processor, 512MB of RAM, 4-inch FWVGA display and 4GB of internal storage. The phone is also expected to pack 5MP rear camera, and the connectivity options like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. With these specs, we don’t really see Nokia succeeding unless the pricing is below INR 7,000.

To remind you, Nokia’s MWC event is scheduled for February 24 and everything should become clear on the day.

In related news, a rumour suggests that Nokia might not be the only Android smartphone coming from Nokia and we would see a few more device later this year. We are yet to see any credible evidence confirming this, so take it with a pinch of salt.

a phone with that price, specs and Nokia’s build quality will be a runaway success in the low end of the market.
