Oppo has revealed that it is announcing the new Find 7 smartphone on March 19 at a press event in Beijing. The company earlier today started teasing the launch event at its various social media channels.
The timing doesn’t seems surprising as we will be seeing most Android manufacturers unveil their next flagship products in February and March.
On the specs front, Oppo Find 7 is expected to come with Android 4.3 and 5.5-inch display. According to Engadget, Oppo will be releasing two variants of the Find 7, one of which will feature QHD resolution display (2560x1440p) and other will come with full HD (1920x1080p) display. We could see some specs differences between the two variants, probably in processor (one with Snapdragon 800 and other with Snapdragon 805) and RAM department.
The same has been hinted in one of Find 7 teasers from Oppo, which states Oppo Find 7 “are” coming, an intentional typo to indicate the existence of more than one version.
It is likely that we will see the release of 1080p version first, followed by QHD version launch on a later date.
Samsung is also said to be coming with two variants of its flagship Galaxy S5 smartphone, one with QHD and other with Full HD display. It is an interesting approach but only time will tell if this is a sound approach for both the manufacturers.
