Samsung introduces Galaxy S5, Gear 2 and Gear Fit in Taiwan

Samsung Gear Fit with Galaxy S5Samsung has unveiled its new Galaxy S5 smartphones as well as Gear 2 and Gear Fit wearable devices in Taiwanese market on Wednesday. The devices will go on sale in Taiwan beginning April 11 like other countries.

Samsung Galaxy S5 has been priced at NT$22,900 (INR 46K, US$753), while the Gear 2 has got a price-tag of NT$8,990 (INR 17,981, US$294) and Gear Fit will sell for NT$5,990 (INR 11,980, US$196).

Originally introduced at the last month’s Mobile World Congress, Samsung Galaxy S5 is the company’s flagship smartphone for this year and comes with features like 5.1-inch full HD display, Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and microSD card slot. It runs on Android 4.4 with Touchwiz user-interface on-top.

On the other hand, Gear 2 is the latest smartwatch from the company and runs on Tizen and will work with most Galaxy smartphones. It allows users to accept or ignore incoming calls and messages, and providing instant notification options based on a user’s activity and habits. Gear Fit also provides Gear 2 like features but in a slightly different form-factor.
