Samsung has decided to take the faux-leather finish that it introduced with Galaxy Note 3 to other device segments. As per a leak from @evleaks, an upcoming Samsung Chromebook will come with the faux-leather finish (see in the image above).
The device-specific details are unknown right now but a recent sighting of Samsung Chromebook 2 on B&H Photo Video website might very well be related.
The Chromebook 2 listings has since been removed but not before folks at OMGChrome had noted all the key details. As per the listings, Samsung Chromebook 2 will be released in two screen-sizes – 11.6-inch and 13.3-inch.
While the 11.6-inch model will come with Exynos 5 SoC, 4GB of RAM and 16GB of SSD, the 13.3-inch is only known to pack 4GB of RAM. Other details are a mystery at this point. These Chromebooks will be priced $299 and above.
With all these sudden leaks, we expect to see an announcement soon.
To remind you, Samsung currently retails one Chromebook device and one Chromebox in select markets.
Update: @evleaks has posted another image of the new Chromebook and confirmed that it is indeed Samsung Chromebook 2.
