Nobody really cares about the weird Fonepad/Padfone contraptions. Sure they’ve got a cult following in certain parts of the world, but it’s still very niche.

I think they’ll do well to launch the stand alone phones that they’ve already launched in Taiwan and in the Chinese mainland. I just hope whenever they do that, they’re able to hold the prices at the promised levels. I’m personally willing to pay Jonney Shih upto Rs. 9990 for the 2Ghz/2GB/16GB version of the Zenfone 5 right now. Take my money already, Jonney boy 😛

They will have a tough time keeping up with demand, methinks – if only they can spread the word and spend a bit on marketing to take on the Samsung juggernaut and also the local players. They won’t be able to manufacture enough to meet demand, I don’t think.

By this time next year, I believe the sub-brand “Zenfone” will become legendary and would have attained cult status. It will hold more water than “Galaxy”, “Xperia” and “Desire” put together especially for the tech savvy. 😀
