Google starts dogfooding Android 4.4.3, expected in coming weeks

Google Nexus 5According to a report in Android Police, Google has started dogfooding the Android 4.4.3 release at its Mountain View offices and the public release is expected in the coming weeks. For those of you unaware of the term dogfooding (eating your own dog food), it is the internal process of testing your own product or code before releasing it to the public.

Android Police notes that around 1 percent of the Google employees are currently testing Android 4.4.3 for the supported Nexus line – Nexus 5, 4, 7 (2012 and 2013) and Nexus 10.

First revealed in the last few weeks, Android 4.4.3 is expected to be mainly a big-fixing release. The alleged full change-log of the release have already been leaked online. This will be the third smaller KitKat release after Android 4.4.1 and 4.4.2 and there is no word on whether Google will follow up with any other smaller KitKat releases before the next Android version.
