HTC Desire 601 Android 4.4 update live in Singapore

HTC Desire 601 KitKat updateHTC has revealed that it has started rolling out Android 4.4 KitKat update for Desire 601 smartphone in Singapore. The update is now available over-the-air but is being released in phases, so not everyone will get it right-away.

The company announced the news on its official Facebook page yesterday. In addition to the Android 4.4 goodness, the update brings Sense 5.5 user interface to the smartphone. The full change-log is not available but among the KitKat specific changes, Desire 601 users can expect to see performance enhancements, immersive mode, lock-screen tweaks, cloud-print support and more.

The owners of Desire 601 will automatically get a notification once the update is available for their smartphone, you can however also check for it manually by going to Settings>About Phone>Software Updates.

Originally unveiled in September 2013, HTC Desire 601 comes with Android 4.2.2 and the latest software update will directly take the phone to Android 4.4.

To remind you, HTC has already released the KitKat update for Desire 601 in Canada for the Rogers variant owners and we expect the update to reach more markets soon.
