Google posts Android L preview system images for Nexus 5 & Nexus 7

Android L Developer PreviewAs promised, Google has published the Android L preview system images for Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 (2013) Wi-Fi devices on Android developer website. These system images are meant for the app developers and advanced users, who would like to test drive the upcoming Android version.

It is important to note here that these images are not meant for the normal users or optimised for the primary devices.

“This is a preview version of the Android system image, and is subject to change. The Android preview system image is not a stable release, and may contain errors and defects that can result in damage to your computer systems, devices, and data. The preview Android system image is not subject to the same testing as the factory OS and can cause your phone and installed services and applications to stop working,” explained Google.

The interested users can head over to this link to download the system images for their Nexus 5 Nexus 7 (2013 Wi-Fi) devices. Make sure to make the backup of device contents before flashing the Android L.

To remind you, Android L was previewed by Google on July 25 at I/O 2014 developer conference. It is major release and brings a number of improvements. The stable version of Android L will be arriving later this year.
