LG to expand G3 availability outside Korea starting June 27

Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore, and Philippines to get the phone first

LG G3LG has announced that it will start the global roll-out of the flagship G3 smartphone this week. The phone will first go on sale in Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore, and the Philippines, followed by rest of Asia, Europe and Middle-East in July.

“Early indications give us reason to be optimistic that G3 will be as successful globally as it has been in Korea. It’s quite an honor to be considered the new industry benchmark for premium smartphones but in the end, what really matters is how consumers feel about our latest flagship device because it was their feedback that helped us create G3,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of the LG Mobile.

Originally unveiled last month, LG G3 features 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, 5.5-inch Quad-HD display, 13MP rear camera with OIS+ & laser-assisted auto-focus,  and Android 4.4.2. The phone also packs a number of software enhancements like Knock Code, Content Lock, Kill Switch and Smart Keyboard.

LG has also revealed that the LG G3 units sold in markets such as Europe and Asia will feature wireless charging.  The pricing of the phone will be shared at the local launches of the phone.

With the 64 bit Snapdragon 808/810 Hexa and Octa core SoCs just months away (MSM8992 and MSM8994), it would probably make more sense to wait out this period to get your hands on a device with those chipsets that can address 4GB RAM and run the now default ART (with 64-Bit compatible Android Lollipop) natively without glitch.

I know that’s exactly what I’d do if I was in the market for a 50K flagship device. Too bad my budget ain’t half as much LOL!

All of these r based on ARM and Qualcomm has said SOC with Krait cores will come late 2015 or early 2016. IMO Krait cores r the best.!
