Update (June 6: 12:35PM): Looks like, Moto G is not coming today. I hate being wrong but it seems Flipkart has delayed the availability for some unknown reason.
Earlier today, Flipkart has sent me an email (being an affiliate partner) about today’s availability (check the screengrab below) but it turns out the website had misinformed me. My apologies for getting your hopes up. Will update if I hear something else.
Earlier: A lot of you have been asking me about the Moto G stock situation on Flipkart, so here is the news you have been waiting for. Flipkart has revealed that Moto G smartphone, which has been out of stock at its website for some time, will be back in stock today i.e. June 6 at around 11AM – 12Noon. We will update the report as soon as the phone is available to buy again at the website. You can check out the relevant links to buy Moto G from Flipkart at the end of the report.
Last few days haven’t been great for Moto G in India as the phone was embroiled in IMEI issues. To recap the issue, Motorola recently shipped several Moto G units to the country, which were not registered with telecom operators, thus making them useless. The company later fixed the issue for some users but others are still waiting for the company to get the IMEI problem sorted out. The new stock is not expected to have any such problems.
Originally launched in February in the country, Moto G has been quite popular among the consumers and as per our estimates Motorola has shipped over over half a million Moto G units until now in India. The phone is an excellent purchase for under INR 15K price-bracket and comes with specifications like dual-SIM support, 4.5-inch 720p HD display, quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM and Android 4.4 KitKat. Motorola has already started rolling out Android 4.4.3 update for the phone in select markets and it is expected to reach India soon.
In related news, another Motorola smartphone Moto E continues getting sold-out in the matter of hours on Flipkart but the frequency of new shipments has increased. The phone was last available at the website on June 5 and we expect it to get back early-next week. As per our estimates, Motorola has shipped over 190,000 units of Moto E in the country since its launch last month.
