Nokia X2 is official, 4.3-inch display & dual-core Snapdragon 200 in tow

Nokia X2As expected, Microsoft on Tuesday took the wraps of the new Nokia X2 smartphone. Set to go on sale immediately in select countries, the phone is the company’s answer to low-cost smartphones like Moto E, which have emerged as hot-sellers in developing markets like India.

According to Microsoft, the Nokia X2 will be priced starting 99 euros.

The smartphone features a 4.3-inch WVGA display, 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor, 1GB of RAM and dual-SIM support. The phone runs on Nokia X software platform 2.0, which is based on AOSP Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean). Among other specifications, Microsoft has included 5MP rear camera with LED flash, 0.3MP front shooter, 1800 mAh battery and 3G support on the X2.

As you can see, Nokia X2 improves on quite a few things like bigger battery, present of front camera, newer software and more RAM over its predecessor Nokia X. The company has also included a home button in addition to the back button in the phone.

In terms of the pre-loaded apps, you can expect to find HERE Maps, MixRadio, Skype, Outlook.com and OneDrive with 15GB storage right out of the box in X2. Bing Search app, Yammer and Xbox games, including SnapAttack, Wordament and Kinectimals will be available to users from the Nokia Store.

Microsoft states that Nokia X2 comes in glossy green, orange and black colour options and glossy yellow, white and matt dark grey colours will be coming on a later date.

We are still waiting for information on the India launch of Nokia X2 and will update the post as soon as we hear something.Nokia X2
