Game developer Imangi Studios has announced today that its Temple Run and Temple Run 2 games have crossed 1 billion downloads.
“Having Temple Run reach the one billion downloads mark is a milestone we couldn’t have imagined when we first started out. We’re incredibly grateful to all the Temple Run players and our wonderful team. We look forward to continuing to grow the Temple Run franchise, as well as creating additional innovative games,” said Keith Shepherd, co-founder of Imangi Studios.
To remind you, the original Temple Run game was first released in August 2011 on iOS and came to Android in March 2012, followed by Windows Phone in March 2013. The sequel Temple Run 2 arrived in January 2013 on both iOS and Android. Both the games are only available on mobile devices.
While the 1 billion downloads milestone only includes Temple Run and Temple Run 2, Imangi Studios has also released two spin-offs in the form of Temple Run: Brave and Temple Run: Oz in partnership with Disney, which have also been quite popular.
