Former Apple CEO John Sculley-backed smartphone brand Obi Mobiles today announced the launch of its first smartphone in the Indian market. Dubbed as Octopus S520, the phone has been priced at INR 11,990 and is immediately available via Snapdeal.com. The company has not given details about the expanded availability of the phone.

Obi Octopus S520 features a 5-inch HD IPS display, 1.7GHz MediaTek octa-core processor, Android 4.4 and 1800 mAh battery. The phone also packs 8MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage and microSD card slot. In addition, the S520 comes wit dual-SIM support, 3G and the usual set of connectivity options.
Obi Mobiles has stated that it has set-up 95 service centres across the country to cater to after-sales service needs of the consumers. The full list can be found at the company website.
