Samsung has silently released the Galaxy Core 2 smartphone in the Indian market. Originally introduced a fortnight ago along with Galaxy Ace 4, Galaxy Young 2 and Galaxy Star 2, the Core 2 has got a price-tag of INR 11,955 and can now be grabbed from e-retailer Infibeam.com. (Update: The smartphone is also on sale Samsung India e-store for INR 11,900)

Update 2: Samsung has now officially announced the launch of Core II in India.

“With the launch of Galaxy Core 2, Samsung Electronics has reinforced its commitment to offer latest technology to its customers at an affordable price. With Galaxy Core 2, we offer powerful performance, intelligent features, and refined designs for an exceptional smartphone experience. The Galaxy Core 2 is the perfect device for users who want an optimal mix of style, portability and power. We are confident that the Core 2 will help us augment our existing market share in the INR 10,000-15,000 price range,” said Asim Warsi, Vice President – Marketing, Mobile & IT at Samsung India.

Samsung Galaxy Core II features a 4.5-inch WVGA display, Android 4.4 and 1.2GHz quad-core processor. The phone also comes with 5MP rear camera with LED flash, VGA front camera, 768MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage and microSD card slot.

In addition, the smartphone packs 2000 mAh battery, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS.

At this pricing, the smartphone will be competing with the likes of Moto G and Asus Zenfone 5 smartphones, both of which offer better specifications than Core 2, so Samsung will have a hard time getting buyers for their latest smartphone.

We are also hearing that Samsung is planning to launch Galaxy Ace 4, Galaxy Young 2 and Galaxy Star 2 in India as well soon but the exact release dates are unclear at this moment. We hope to get more clarity in the coming days.Samsung Galaxy Core 2

    1. well few years back we had same words for Nokia and BB… they paid the price… it’s time Samsung and others to think about market trend rather than releasing shitty products.

  2. 768MB of RAM with android 4.4.2 and they dont put it on my galaxy S3 with 1 gb RAM …samedung …

  3. this will sell like hot cakes in offline stores where customers treat sales person like the geekiest person alive. sadly offline store >>> flipkart + amazon + others lot put together. but at least sirens have gone off at S.Korea with the onslaught of Motorola now followed by Asus & soon to be joined by Xiaomi. And later this year by Android One devices (though unlikely).
