Moto G2 leak
Alleged Image of Moto G2

Motorola’s Moto G successor might be arriving earlier than expected and it is not surprising given the number of leaks and rumours we have seen in the recent times.

According to a report in GSM Arena, the Moto G2 will start shipping on September 10 in select markets and will get a price-tag around 250 euros. We are a little sceptical about the pricing and will wait for the official unveiling to get the official figure.

With shipping expected on Sep 10, it is quite possible that Motorola will showcase the G2 at IFA Trade Fair in Berlin early next month.

Coming to specifications, while this seems disappointing to the consumers, the Moto G2 won’t be a big upgrade over its predecessor. The phone is reportedly coming with a 5-inch 720p display, quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor and 1GB of RAM. Moto G2 is also rumoured to feature 8MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, Android 4.4.4, 8GB of internal storage and microSD card slot. Other specifications are a mystery but with less than a month to go for the rumoured availability, we won’t have to wait for long.

Moto X+1 to pack Snapdragon 801: Benchmark

In related news, a recently leaked Geekbench listing has revealed that Moto X+1 will feature Qualcomm’s Snapdraogn 801 quad-core processor and not Snapdragon 800 as was earlier leaked.

The phone is also expected to arrive next month and could be unveiled at the same time as Moto G2.  A seperate rumour has revealed that US telecom operator Verizon Wireless could see the launch of Moto X+1 on September 25.

  1. Yeah, I saw that pricing info somewhere as well, but that’s the Brazillian pricing, which is always ludicrously on the higher side, maybe on account of taxation.

Expect pricing in the rest of the world to be on par with, or actually even a tad lower than the last edition (12.5K & 14K).

  2. As per the leaks only screen size & price is upgraded, hope the leaks are proved wrong once the product is launched…….
