LG G3 Beat goes on pre-order in India at INR 24,999


LG G3 BeatLG is all set to release its G3 Beat smartphone in the Indian market. The smartphone is currently listed for pre-orders at e-retailer Infibeam.com with a price-tag of INR 24,999. The e-retailer notes that it will start shipping the phone on September 13, indicating at an official launch sometime in the second week of September.

A smaller cousin of the company’s flagship G3 smartphone, the new G3 Beat features a 5-inch HD display, 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM, and Android 4.4.4. The phone also comes with 8GB of internal storage, microSD card slot and 2540 mAh battery.

On the imaging front, LG has included an 8MP rear camera with laser auto-focus support and 1.3MP front camera on the phone. You can check out the full specifications later in the report.

In terms of the software enhancements, the usual LG add-ons like Touch & Shoot, Smart Keyboard, QuickMemo+, and Gesture Shot are available on the G3 Beat.

As we are still waiting for the official announcement, we won’t considering the INR 24,999 pricing final but if G3 Beat indeed launches at the same price, it will have a hard time finding any buyers. The phone packs practically the same specifications as the new Moto G apart from the laser auto-focus and a bigger battery and the Motorola smartphone is being sold at half its price.

    G3 beat supports 4G. not sure if it’ll be available in here but irrespective of that, that pricing is sufficient to kill itself. 25k for S400 chipset & just 1GB of ram. actually the entire 20-25k range is full of nothing but big fat crap smartphones, apart from Moto X. Xperia T2, T3, C3, Desire 516 all have the same chipset as Moto G.
    At 20k, the looks, 4G, laser focus and other gimmicky features may allow it to move a few thousand units but at 25k, this ain’t going anywhere.

      While I absolutely and unequivocally agree with your assessment that those few features do not warrant a near 100% markup, sadly, ‘jo dikhta hai, so bikta hai’.

      Did you read the report of MMX Unite selling a million units in a 100 days? Inspite of Moto E and ZenFone 4 being available at the same range (not to mention the recent addition of the Redmi 1S)?

      This is India, where we still use cash instead of CCs and checkbooks instead of ATMs. Most people simply don’t know about online availability of anything, let alone cell-phones, and even the few who do, feel distinctly uncomfortable ordering goods online even with CoD, forget about Credit/Debit Cards.

      So for the marketers, it is imperative that they put your goods in a brick and mortar retail outlet and give their retailers a big fat margin, and they’ll do everything to move that device. That is where SS, MMX etc. have been so successful over the years. The poor consumer doesn’t stand a chance. 🙁

      Totally agree with you man. All these brands are taking the Indian customers for a ride. That’s why i got Asus Zenfone 5. My earlier phone was Nexus 4
