Official Amazon app updated to v5, Prime Instant Video lands in Appstore


Amazon app updateAmazon has released a major update for its official Android app. The update is now live in Google Play and brings a number of improvements including Instant Video playback via Prime Instant Video app.

The Prime Instant Video app is available exclusively on Amazon Appstore but you can download it directly from Amazon app. It is important to note here that majority of the changes introduced today by Amazon in its app are only valid for the US residents.

In addition, Amazon has also integrated Cloud Drive in the main app itself, so no need for the Cloud Drive app to automatically back-up your photos or videos on Amazon servers.

Here is the full official change-log:

1. Prime members in the US can enjoy unlimited Prime Instant Video from within the Amazon app by downloading the Prime Instant Video player, delivered exclusively via the Amazon Appstore

2. The new Amazon App for Android phones now enables US customers to discover and purchase all of Amazon’s digital catalog, in addition to an award-winning mobile shopping experience on hundreds of millions of physical goods

3. 5GB of free photo back-up with Amazon Cloud Drive
