  1. Looks like they have given a software update to the hardware of last year and branded as the next iteration… they will rest in peace for sure!

  2. WOW… They have reduced RAM from 768MB to 512MB and call it as an upgraded phone?? WTF they are smoking???

    1. They did that with the Core 2 as well. This is called the arrogance of power. The power of being the number 1 mobile maker in the world.

Much as we despise them, they’re still cool for the tech illiterate masses. Two of my cousins recently upgraded to the Grand Neo for 15 K and the S5 for 35K inspite of asking for my advice and me telling them about everything from the ZenFone 5 to the upcoming Moto ‘Shamu’. They actually believe that Samsungs are $exy in a way Motos and Asuses are not. Oh well.

So much for the Samsung era coming to an end. Unfortunately, that’s not happening any time soon. Neither are they’re going to rectify their ways, nor are the consumers going to stand up to be counted. How can you blame them if we want to be fleeced ourselves. We deserve Samsung and their ilk. Sad, but true. 🙁

      1. It will never help them in long run… May be helpful in making some quick bucks… Guess what happened to Nokia, the ex-number ONE and their resistance to change?

Agree most buyers are tech illiterate, but many ask geeks before investing money in a phone, which they will never change for two years minimum…

I have earlier recommended those people to Samsung years back (when Sammy was not this bad and we have not much choice either), but now, I recommend Moto G / E nowadays and choices are there…

Sammy is already feeling the heat… If they keep on behaving like this, they will go down even if they later started giving good products at reasonable rates… (This is TRUE for today’s NOKIA too) KARMA IS A B!TCH…

      2. I agree with you that it doesn’t pay in the long run to take your customers for granted. But who cares when all you need is to show your shareholders a fat bottomline at the next AGM!

I wrote this somewhere a few weeks ago – long story short, my cousin asked me to select for her a 15K mobile, and inspite of my advice about the ZenFone 5 and Moto G/G2, she went ahead and bought a ‘cool’ Grand Neo anyways.

It’s just that the brands that are cool for us, ain’t so for them and the brands they perceive to be cool (Apple, Samsung etc.), you and I wouldn’t touch with a bargepole at least till things change and that ain’t gonna happen in the foreseeable future.

  3. the only reason Samsung doesn’t care about updating hardware is people who buy their phones doesn’t care about hardware too or have no idea what a processor is at the first place. or a mobile too got a processor. now they are shipping their mobiles with latest android out of the box which is way easier to explain than things like processing core & processor brand.
and when their mobiles lag, their reply “android always lag”. still sticking to their small dream crapsung words.

  4. Smart working. As android 4.4 runs smoothly on 512 RAM, for entry level smart phone it is acceptable. That’s how they are asking for less bucks and far better hardware in compare to 2nd/3rd positioned company.

    1. STOCK Android 4.4 runs smoothly on 512MB RAM and NOT on BLOATWIZ ROM… So reduction of RAM is NOT at all a good step, imho…

    2. which “far better hardware” you are talking about ? they even didn’t mention chipset. And no be it kitkat or whatever else 1 GB is always better than 512 MB. Stop confusing innocent buyers

  5. Waste phone again..very poor in performance like old previous sibling..even very slow.. with 512MB RAM what we can do. fu*** phone.. even the cost is also higher.. Waste to buy this..
