After integrating metal frame in the new Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Alpha smartphones, Samsung is planning to go full metal in the upcoming SM-A500 smartphone, reports SamMobile. According to the publication, this smartphone will be a part of the company’s Galaxy Alpha family.
SamMobile notes that A500 will come with a full metal body and won’t include a removable back cover. The phone will however feature a microSD card slot, which is going to be a hybrid slot for both nano-SIM and microSD cards. Among other specifications, the phone will reportedly come with a 5-inch Super AMOLED HD display, Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor, and 2330 mAh battery. A500 will also pack 8MP rear camera, 5MP front shooter, 16GB of on-board memory and Android.
The usual software customisations like Ultra-power saving mode are also said to be present on this upcoming metal phone.
There are no other details available but it is nice to see Samsung moving beyond the use plastic in its smartphone as more and more manufacturers opt for newer materials to build premium looking durable smartphones.
