Google Fit app lands in Play Store, brings all your fitness data in one place

Google FitAfter rolling out APIs for the developers to work with, Google has released its own fitness data tracking app “Google Fit” in Play Store.  The Google Fit app also integrates an Android Wear component for the smartwatches. The app collects information from sensors built-in your phone/ tablet and/ or Android Wear smartwatch and presents them in understandable view.

The application also helps achieve fitness goals by providing real-time information on how far you are from your goals.

“When it comes to improving our fitness, every little effort counts. That’s why we’ve created Google Fit – a fitness app that helps you to start tracking your activity effortlessly and become more active, aware and motivated,” noted Sabrina Ellis, Director, Product Management, Android, in a blog post.

Google has also noted that you can connect your favourite fitness devices and apps like Strava, Withings, Runtastic, Runkeeper and Noom Coach to Google Fit and the app will compile and present all of the relevant data in one spot.

Google Fit app works with all Android devices running version 4.0 or above and the collected data can not only be viewed on Android devices but also on the web.
