Google has announced that it has launched a streamlined version of its search results page in India for better experience on poor data connections.
“Now, we will automatically check to see if a user has a slow wireless connection and deliver a fast loading version of Search. Fewer bytes means you get your answer faster—and cheaper,” Google’s Bharat Mediratta noted in a blog post.
The tweaked search page will only be available on mobile devices and does not impact the actual search results. However, the search giant noted that image and map results, which are sometimes shown as a part of the main search results, will not be shown unless they are essential to the query.
With more and more people accessing the web and Google via smartphones and other mobile devices and the limited and expensive fast data connections, this move will surely help the consumers.
