M8 Eye spotted on Chinese regulator website
HTC has been rumoured to be working on two smartphones with Eye in their codename (or real name) – M8 Eye and Eye. While we know quite a few things about M8 Eye, details about HTC Eye has been scarce.
Now, a new leak from @Upleaks has revealed some key information about the phone including the possible final branding. The phone is expected to be dubbed as HTC Desire Eye and will sport 13MP F2.0 wide-angle cameras with dual-LED flash on both front and back of the phone. As rumoured earlier, HTC is clearly eyeing the selfie crowd with Desire Eye.
Among other specifications, the phone will come with 2.3GHz Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor, 5.2-inch FHD display, 2400 mAh removable battery, water/ dust resistance and Sense 6.0. In addition, the phone will feature a dual-colour design.
There is no word on the release date or pricing but we expect to hear from the company soon.
HTC One (M8 Eye)
In related news, the other Eye-branded smartphone and the variant of HTC One M8 has been spotted in the Chinese regulator TENAA’s database. The phone will reportedly be released in M8Et and M8Ew variants, first one for China and other for India.
The TENAA database has also revealed that the phone will sport a 5-inch full HD display, not 5.2-inch as was earlier rumoured. On the imaging front, similar to previous leaks, One M8 Eye will come with a 13MP Duo camera on the rear. Rest of the specifications are said to be same as HTC One M8.
