Huawei has introduced a new Ascend-series smartphone in the Chinese market. Now on sale at the company’s VMall, the new Huawei Ascend GX1 sports a huge 6-inch 720p HD IPS display.
The phone has been priced at 1590 yuan and comes with specifications such as 1.2GHz 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor, dual-SIM support, Android 4.4 and 1GB of RAM. The phone also packs 8GB of on-board storage, microSD card slot, 8MP rear camera and 2MP front shooter.
In addition, Huawei has included 3500 mAh battery, 4G LTE support, and NFC support on the smartphone.
There is no word on the global debut of the Ascend GX1, but we expect to see the smartphone hitting Indian shores soon. (via)
Huawei to launch sub-INR 10K 4G LTE smartphones in India
In related news, PTI is reporting that Huawei India will release 4G LTE smartphone with price-tags lower than INR 10,000 in the country soon. No specifics are available at this point, but we hope to hear from the company soon.
“We are largest owner of essential patents for 4G technology. The essential patents are technology required to connect with 4G network. Within 3-6 months, we have plans to launch 4G handsets below INR 10,000,” Huawei’s director for devices sales P Sanjeev told PTI.
