Asus has introduced a new Zenfone-series smartphone in the Malaysian market today. Dubbed as Zenfone C, the new smartphone seems to be a variant of the company’s Asus Zenfone 4 A450CG and carries the model number ZC451CG.
The Asus Zenfone C features a 4.5-inch FWVGA IPS display, 1.2GHz Intel Atom Z2520 processor, 1GB of RAM and 5MP rear camera. The phone also packs 8GB of internal storage, microSD card slot and 0.3MP front shooter. In addition, Asus has included 2100 mAh battery, and Android 4.4 with Zen UI.
According to Asus, the new smartphone will go on sale in the coming days for RM 349 ($96).
The announcement of Zenfone C comes just days after the company had introduced a Zenfone 5-variant in the Indian market with a slightly different SoC than the original. Asus seem to be opting for the Samsung strategy of releasing new variants of the existing smartphones in the market every quarter.
The company also revealed today that it has sold over 700,000 units of Zenfone smartphones in Malaysia till date.
