Yet to be launched, the new Micromax Bolt A066 smartphone has been made official on the company website. Part of the company’s Bolt series, the new phone comes with Android Kitkat 4.4.2 out of the box. Pricing and availability are still under the wraps and we’re hoping that Micromax will launch the phone in the market soon.
The phone sports a 3.5-inch HVGA IPS display, and comes with 1300mAh battery, which Micromax promises, will provide 6 hours of talktime and 160 hours of standby time. A066 runs on 1.3GHz dual-core MediaTek MT6571 processor along with 512MB of RAM.
Multimedia features include a 2MP fixed focus primary camera with an LED flash and 0.3MP fixed focus front-facing camera. The phone comes with 4GB of internal memory, which can be expanded using a microSD card. It also comes with light sensor, gravity sensor proximity sensor and inbuilt FM radio.. In addition, Micromax Bolt A066 offers connectivity options like Bluetooth, GPRS/EDGE, Micro-USB and Wi-Fi. The website states no support for HSPA or 3G, so this phone might not provide the best browsing experience to the customers.
Overall, A066 looks like a toned-down version of the company’s previously launched A065 smartphone and is likely aims to target the sub INR 5,000 segment. Considering the lack of even low-range smartphone features like 3G, Micromax will have to price it very low to make it a success.
