At the Mi 4 launch event earlier today, Xiaomi revealed that it will begin the MIUI 6.0 update roll-out for its smartphones in the Indian market in early-February. The update will first reach the Mi 3 and Redmi Note 4G smartphones, followed by Redmi 1S and Redmi Note phones in late-March.
As the current round of updates will be based on Android 4.4 KitKat, there is no word on when the Android 5.0 Lollipop will reach the Xiaomi devices in the country.
To remind you, Xiaomi unveiled the Mi 4 smartphone in India today. It is the first phone run on MIUI 6.0. The registrations for the phone are now open at Flipkart.com.
The latest version of Xiaomi’s Android avatar, MIUI 6.0 brings a number of new features like mark unknown numbers, access free Wi-Fi with WiWide, use the IVR system, improved notifications shade, lock-screen notifications, floating notifications, redesigned mails app and more.
