HTC One (M8) getting Android 5.0 Lollipop update in India

HTC One M8 Lollipop updateHTC has finally started rolling out Android 5.0 Lollipop update for One (M8) smartphone in the Indian market. The update is now available over-the-air (OTA) and is being released in a phased manner.

Your One (M8) smartphone will automatically get a notification once the update is available for your smartphone, or you can also check manually by going to Settings > About Phone > Software update.

Over 574MB in size, the update brings Android 5.0 platform, UI improvements, security enhancements, and ART as default runtime as well as new privacy features, improved notifications, improvements to recent apps interface, search in settings and more to the phone.

Now that HTC has released Lollipop for One (M8), we expect to see the update for One (M7) in the coming weeks.

    I updated my phone I like the new layout and everything, but now my music library that I worked so hard to organize with the right artist, song, and album name is completely messed up! Beyond upset!!

    The notifications, similar to iOS.. Some minor tweaks to the interface.. like status download in Google Play, will inform more soon…

    Well nothing new in this update,, not even three main screen buttons! Just added the features which M8 had speciality of! Sad 🙁 .

    Update is a sh!t nothing new…it messed up the features which we good in sense 6. like the app Tray and notifications bar…which by the way look like sh!t…but updating is a breeze…no issues like overheating, battery drain…

    Haven’t received it yet on M8 in Gurgaon, India. Any clues by when it is expected? Is this a city wise release or carrier wise ?
