Continuing its onslaught of budget Android smartphones, Indian smartphone vendor Intex Technologies has launched a new Aqua-series smartphone in the country. Dubbed as Intex Aqua Speed HD, the smartphone has been priced at INR 8,999 and will go on sale in the coming days.
“The Aqua Speed HD is another effort of ours towards, inventing and improvising our offerings. We believe in providing our customers with products that satisfy their needs and are easy on their pocket. This new product comes across as a package of smart designing, tactical pricing and youthful colors all packaged for our target consumer,” said Sanjay Kumar Kalirona, Business Head, Mobiles, Intex Technologies.
The new smartphone comes with a 4.7-inch HD IPS display, 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582M processor, 2GB of RAM and Android 4.4. The Aqua Speed HD also packs 16GB of internal storage, dual-SIM support, 1700 mAh battery, 8MP rear camera and 5MP front shooter.
In addition, Intex has included the usual set of connectivity options including 3G support.
On the software front, the company has pre-loaded Sashakt and Microsoft OneDrive apps. Sashakt is an emergency application, which sends a text message to a preset emergency number with the location of the user. The Aqua Speed HD users will also get 50GB of free cloud storage for two years from OneDrive.
The smartphone will be available in a number of colour options including White, Silver and Sea Blue.
In related news, Intex has listed another new budget Android phone on its official website. The Intex Aqua Dream carries a price-tag of INR 10,390, however the availability details of the phone are unclear at this moment.
The smartphone features 5.5-inch HD display, octa-core processor, KitKat, 13MP rear camera and 1GB of RAM.
