Nexus Player goes on sale in Spain, Sweden & six other European markets

Google Nexus PlayerGoogle has quietly begun the sales of the Nexus Player Android TV device in eight new European markets. This Asus-made device can now be grabbed from Google Store in Austria, Denmark, Finland, Italy, Norway, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland. It carries a price-tag of 99 euros.

Originally unveiled in October last year, Nexus Player was the first commercially available Android TV device. It connects with your HDTV and can be used to runs Android apps, play games or multimedia playback. The device recently started receiving the Android 5.1.1 update, which mainly brings bug-fixes and performance enhancements.

Google has also started selling the device in Australia, where it was officially launched a few days ago.

With the latest launch, Google Nexus Player is now available in a total of fifteen countries, which is disappointingly low number for even a Nexus device.

In related news, Google has removed a number of older devices like Nexus 7 (2013) & LG G Watch from its web store around the world. These devices had been out of stock for quite sometime in the Google Store.
